Step 2: If recently installed Trend Micro Antivirus Plus Security (or related software), uninstall then try reinstalling Trend Micro Antivirus Plus Security software.

You can uninstall Trend Micro Antivirus Plus Security software by following these instructions (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10):

  1. Hit the Windows Start button
  2. In the search box, type "Uninstall" and press "ENTER".
  3. In the search results, find and click "Add or Remove Programs"
  4. Find the entry for Trend Micro Antivirus Plus Security 16 and click "Uninstall"
  5. Follow the prompts for uninstallation.
