Sync your Sticky Notes to Web and Android

Here is how you can access your Sticky Notes to the Web and Android

Over the years, Microsoft has worked hard at making the dream of a true Microsoft ecosystem come true. Just like Apple has its own ecosystem, thanks to its Mac line of computers and iPhones, Microsoft has also tried really hard at making the perfect combo. The tech giant had already dominated the PC market share, thanks to its Windows licensing deals, but it lacked control over the mobile part. Windows Phone failed to take off the way Microsoft wanted it to but it was Microsoft’s big bet to making the ecosystem work.

However, since then, Microsoft has concentrated all its efforts in introducing features that would allow you to sync your Windows machines with other kinds of devices, be it an Android device or an iOS device, or even over the Web. Thanks to this, it has managed to work on some pretty useful little features, be it the ability to send a text message from your phone using your Windows PC, viewing photos, or even syncing your browsing data. Not only that, but it also allows you to check the status of your windows devices using an online portal, find it, and remotely lock it.

What is Sticky Notes?

Sticky Notes is a simple and smart application that comes built-in with Windows. Designed to look like real-life sticky notes with colorful options, it is also pretty easy to use and has a minimalistic design. If you’re a Windows user, there is a pretty good chance that you already use this application. One feature that was missing from this application is the ability to sync and access your notes across non-Windows devices.

Now, we have come across another useful little feature that allows you to sync and access all your notes from the Sticky Notes app to the web as well as Android phones. This functionality is not yet available for iOS devices but Microsoft is working on including this for Apple’s devices soon.

Signing into Sticky Notes

Sticky Notes is designed to automatically sync and upload all your notes to the cloud. However, you will need to be signed in to a Microsoft account inside the Sticky Notes application before accessing the notes on the web or across other devices. To do that, follow the steps given below,

  1. Open Sticky Notes – you can do that by pressing START + S to open Windows Search, type Sticky Notes and then click on the search result.
  2. Click on the gear icon that is visible on the top-right corner of the Sticky Notes application, as shown in the screenshot below.
  3. Click on the Sign in button.
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft account credentials.
  5. That’s it.

It might take a little while for Microsoft to upload the notes to the cloud. Once that’s done, you can try accessing it across other devices.

Access Sticky Notes on the Web

  1. Head over to One Note’s Sticky Notes page.
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account credentials.

That’s it. If you have correctly signed into Sticky Notes and your notes have been synced, it will show you a simple UI with all your notes listed down on the left-pane. You can scroll down and click on any note to open and edit it. Just like inside the Sticky Notes application, you can click on the three-dot icon on the top-right of any note to change its color or delete it. On the bottom-right of each note, it will show you the date when it was last edited.

To create a new note, you can click on the little + icon on the top-left. You can also search through your sticky notes.

Access Sticky Notes on Android

  1. Head over to the Google Play Store and download the Microsoft Launcher for Android.
  2. Once you have installed it, you can simply swipe to open the Glance feed and find a widget with all your notes from your Sticky Notes account.

Just like on the web, you can create, delete, or edit all your notes from your Android device. All the changes you make will be synced seamlessly across your account and reflect on your other devices.

Microsoft has done an amazing amount of work to try to create a kind of a bridge between Android and Windows devices, making it easy to sync most of your work. You can read our guide read more about how you can connect your Android device to your Windows PC.
